Cohesive Robotics Wins Manufacturing Grant to Advance Automated Surface Finishing

June 2, 2023

We are pleased to announce that FuzeHub has awarded the New York City-based team of ITAC and Cohesive Robotics a $50,000 Jeff Lawrence Innovation Fund manufacturing grant.

With this support from FuzeHub, we’ll be able to mature our Smart Finishing™ Robotic Workcell system and get it onto more production floors, sooner. This new automation capability will boost production capacity for sanding, grinding, and polishing operations across industry sectors, including aerospace, renewable energy, heavy equipment and general fabrication. Through our partners ITAC, we also look forward to working together to address the finishing needs of local New York City manufacturers throughout the five boroughs. This includes offsite and onsite demonstrations of system capabilities, while providing a venue for sharing general automation experiences and know-how.

Funded through New York State’s Empire State Development’s Division of Science, Technology and Innovation (NYSTAR), the grant is intended to help small and medium-sized businesses advance their manufacturing capabilities to scale up a process, take a product to market faster, or de-risk in a variety of ways. FuzeHub, a not-for-profit organization providing small- to medium-sized manufacturers with guided access to an extensive network of industry experts, programs and resources to solve business growth challenges, manages the program as part of its Jeff Lawrence Innovation Fund.
